The attorney-at-law Aliaksandr Danilevich made a presentation on the topic “Arbitration Clauses in Smart Contracts” at the VI International Conference “Information Technologies and Law (Legal Informatization – 2018)” on May 17, 2018. The event was organized by the National Center for Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Republican Bar Association, the Belarusian Notary Chamber and the National Library of Belarus.
In the report, the attorney assessed the current arbitration legislation of Belarus from the point of view of the possibility of stipulation of the arbitration clause in the smart contracts, described the risks that the parties of the smart contract bear despite its widely declared reliability for counterparties.
